Haiku

I wrote a haiku the other week:

とんぼたち
空でいっぱい
セミがなく

The sky above
is filled with dragonflies;
Cicadas cry

In haiku, many words are associated with certain seasons. Dragonflies mean fall, while cicadas represent summer. There is also a play on words with "naku." It has two different kanji (Chinese characters). One means to cry as in human crying, the other is used to represent insect voices (or cries). I purposefully did not use a kanji in my haiku because it has both meanings here. As the sky is filled with dragonflies, the cicadas cry as summer ends.
